Randy L. Adams


Randy L. Adams is a retired educator and coach of nearly 40 years with the Goshen County schools. He has owned and operated his 500 acre wheat farm in Western Nebraska since 1982. He is a widely recognized historian specializing in Wyoming’s history and history of the Frontier West. He co-authored two textbooks widely used throughout the state on Wyoming History; he is a public speaker on all matters concerning Wyoming, the immediate past president of the Fort Laramie Historical Association and is currently in his 20th year of serving the citizens of Torrington as a City Councilman and now as Mayor. Randy was first appointed in February of 2000 and has been elected six times since. His current term expires on Jan. 1, of 2023. Randy serves on several state committees and represents Wyoming with the National League of Cities where he serves on the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Steering committee and the Steering Committee for the National Small Cities Council. Randy graduated from Potter High School in Potter, Nebraska, and from the University of Wyoming in 1970 with a degree in Secondary Education with minors in Political Science, History and art. He and his wife Barbara have lived in their home on Main Street since 1973. He is very proud of his wife and two sons, and his three grandchildren. Randy believes that the citizens of the City of Torrington are in good hands with the professional and well trained staff that works hard to provide quality services to Torrington’s citizens at a fair and reasonable price. He supports continued economic development, continuous and well-planned infrastructure improvement, controlled growth and seizing opportunities to improve the community when the budget allows.
